Anthony McCoy, 53, of Decatur, IL, passed away October 21, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.   

Anthony was born November 16, 1964, in Watson, AR, the son of Jarvis and Anna Mae (Finch) McCoy.  He married Mira Maclin on December 20, 1987 in Chicago, IL.  He worked as a laborer in the manufacturing field. 

Surviving are his wife, Mira; children, Anthony McCoy Jr. of Jefferson City, MO, Calvin Curtiss of St. Louis, MO, Bernice Hemphill (Lamart) of Decatur, IL, Laura Nash (Tyrone) of Decatur, IL, Yanel Mazzari (Victor) of Decatur, IL, Ronetta Coleman (Marcus) of Central Academy, MS, Velma Yanders (Andri) of Decatur, IL, Tomeko Drummer of Decatur, IL, Linder Maclin of Decatur, IL; sister, Denise Watington of Wasson, AR and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, J.C. McCoy, Jarvis McCoy, Jr, Lacey McCoy; sisters Evelyn McCoy, Doshia McCoy, Luvenia McCoy and Mary McCoy. 

Homegoing Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM, Friday, November 2, 2018 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. 

Memorials: Donor’s Choice.

    For the family of Anthony McCoy and wife Myra I extend condolence at this time on behalf of the mountford Free Will Church Decatur Illinois we know that God will not put no more than you can bear prayer will see us through and as I would look at Anthony daily he didn’t let anything stop and I will say How You Like Me Now and you’ll keep moving so that’s what God want us to do by faith to keep moving because we all have to pay the same the Same Love so stay strong

    Mira you probably don’t remember me I worked @ Kroger with you and Lillian , I’m so sorry for your loss, heaven gained a good person who would laugh n love anyone possible, I no longer live in illinois or I’d come to pay my respect, I am thinking of ya all and prayers sent to you family and friends
