Decatur – Mary (Robinson) Woods, 82, of Decatur, formerly of Crawfordsville Indiana, entered Heaven’s gates on Thursday, February 1, 2018.
Mary was born March 30th, 1935, to the late Hiram and Lynn (Levell) Robinson of Crawfordsville Indiana. She later married Noel woods of Westville Illinois. There were four children born from this union Lisa, Roger, Gary and Robin.
Surviving are two daughters: Lisa Garrett and Robin Morrison; two sons: Roger Woods and Gary Woods; 15 grandchildren: Troy Woods, Adrian Woods, Chevon Robinson, Denaria Johnson, Dawn Morrison, Jessica Woods, Larry Garret Jr, Talisha Woods, Anthony Morrison, Gary woods Jr, Amber Woods, Quinton Morrison, Kiera Woods, Alexandra Morgan, Paris Woods and Jadah Woods; 44 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by 1 sister, Beverly Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was a homemaker for many years. Raising her children and serving in the church and community. She used her love of cooking to make a living at Saint Elizabeth hospital and George’s buffet in Danville Illinois. In her later years Mary continued to use her homemaking skills as a helping hand in Bloomington Illinois.
Mary’s greatest love of all was Jesus Christ. In her later years she spent majority of her time reading his word and teaching it to others. She also enjoyed her daily phone conversations with her loved ones.
Mary will truly be missed. She will continue to live on in our hearts and memories and shall never be forgotten.
Preceding her in death were 5 brothers: Hiram, Frank, Walter, Robert and Cecil and 4 sisters: Bertha, Emma, Ann and Betty.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 11 am, Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church; visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Burial will take place at a later date.
