Michael D. Coventry, 34, of Decatur, IL passed away January 31, 2019.
Michael was born on March 9, 1984 in Decatur to David and Cheryl (Kershner) Coventry. Michael attended St. Patrick Elementary and Macarthur High School, then Art Academy in St. Paul, MN. A kind and generous man, he often gifted his art to friends and family. Michael studied mycology (fungi) and history and enjoyed spending time in nature. Surviving are his love, Jennifer Frey and daughter Stella Frey of Decatur, IL, his sister Meridith (Coventry) Layne of Morrison, IL, and his parents. He will be greatly missed.

A service will be conducted by Father John Burnette at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at St. Patrick Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church followed by burial.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for Stella’s education.  Arrangements are being handled by Moran and Goebel Funeral Home.     What, i cant believe this. A fine young man Mike was, me and him shared a lot laughs the brief time we worked together. Good kid…he always told me i was the coolest old guy he ever knew. Hahaha..

  4. I’m very sorry to hear of Michael’s passing. I had Michael on my baseball teams at Northwest back in the 90’s. He was such a nice boy. Quiet, a little shy, but gave his all. He will forever be on my team. My deepest sympathies.
