To all of Karen’s family, I grew up next door to Karen on Monroe Street. I didn’t even know her parents first names as we always addressed adults as Mr & Mrs. Karen and her family always had the best haunted houses set up in their basement and all of is neighborhood kids thought all of the Brittons were the best. Karen pulled me over for speeding once. She gave me a stern talking to about the dangers of speeding, then winked at me, told me is was great seeing me after so many years, then sent me on my way. I have a lot of fond memories of her, she was a classy lady with a passion for doing things right. Prayers to her family and friends 🙏🏻
We only had 3 short years knowing Karen as we were her new neighbor. The impact this woman made in our lives is unprecedented. We miss her showing up in the evening outta no where on her horse to have chats with us! Karen was a wonder, wonderful neighbor, a great friend, and we miss her terribly.
I have many fond memories of Karen and the rest of the Havener family from showing horses. Karen’s dynamic personality along with her beautiful smile are traits I remember of her. After my horse show days, I had the pleasure of seeing her a couple of times at The Brown Bag restaurant in Monticello while she was on duty. It was great seeing her again in her ISP uniform she proudly wore. I am truly sorry for your loss and extend prayers to your family at this time of sorrow.
