Karen R. Havener's Obituary
Karen R. Havener, 68, passed away on September 9, 2023, in St. Louis, MO.
Karen was born to Kenneth and Martha Britton on October 30, 1954, in Danville, IL. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” R. Havener on November 4, 1978, in Decatur, IL. Karen worked for the Illinois State Police for 23 and a half years as a State Trooper. She was part of the State Police Union and the National Cutting Horse Association. She loved working with horses. She was a country girl, who went to the grocery store in a cowboy hat and spurs. She was a loving mother and wife. She will be greatly missed.
Karen is survived by her husband, Bill Havener; daughters, Lauren (DJ) Colonius, Nanette Havener; sisters, Janis Smith, Bonita “Bunny” Blakey; brothers-in-laws, Roy Havener, John (Sherry) Havener, Dave Webb; granddaughters, Kelsey Colonius, Kinsley Colonius; niece, Jenilyn (Chris) Stauffer; nephew, Patrick (Angie) Barnes, best friend, Pam Riebock, and many extended family and friends.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judi Webb; brothers-in-law, Ed Smith, Gene Blakey.
Services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home.
