A. Mabel Willms 88 of Decatur died Sunday April 15, 2007 in Prairie Rose Health Care Center at Pana.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Thursday April 19, 2007 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorial gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
Mabel was born on September 19, 1918 in Champaign, IL the daughter of Marion and Bessie Ross Lowry. She worked as a Seamstress for the Eldorado garment Company and was a member of the garment workers union. She loved to do ceramics and country crafts and was very good at it. She was married to Quentin W. Willms in June of 1939 at St. Louis, MO he preceded her in death in August of 1963.
Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Thompson John of Decatur; Jeane Holderby Kent of Mt. Zion; Linda Wilson of Decatur; brother, Ross Lowery Sherry of Nashville, NC; sister Hazel Kyd of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Debbie Griffith Mike, Patty Thompson Bill Fray, John Wilson Jr., Anne, Julie Daley Kevin, John Thompson Jr. Allison, Connie Wilson, and Carrie Holderby; great grandchildren, Kevin Osborne, Mathew Griffith, Ashley Griffith, Justin Douglas, Tony Douglas, Alex Wond, Ryan Thompson, Jordan Thompson, Haven Daley, Brant Knowles, Victor Walston, Andrea Wilson, Ashley Shehorn, and Josh Walston; and six great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband one grand-daughter, Kathleen Walston, one son-in-law, John D. Wilson Sr.
