Alan J. Letner's Obituary
Alan J. Letner, 59, of Springfield, Illinois, 59, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 20, 2019.
Alan was born January 8, 1960, in Decatur, IL to Bill and Jeanne (Schmidt) Letner.
Alan was a brilliant man having been self-taught as a successful controls engineer. He was a lover of all animals. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and storytelling over a good meal with family and friends. He enjoyed spicy foods and made an out of this world salsa and frequently shared his secret concoction with his neighbors. Alan enjoyed airshows, drag racing, football, astronomy and scuba diving. Alan’s greatest love, above all, was his family and the ocean.
Alan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bill and Jeanne Letner and his beloved dog, Phoenix. Alan is survived by his little sister, Laura Letner of Decatur, and his faithful dog, Taz.
Alan will be missed by Laura, Taz and his neighbors who cared about him and loved him dearly.
