Albert Forrest Hexum's Obituary
Albert Forrest Hexum, 91, of Decatur, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in his home.
Albert was born December 22, 1917, in Decatur, the son of Alfred and Maudie I. Tucker Hexum. A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and Korean War, Albert worked at Grigoleit for 33 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of First Christian Church and the Civilian Conservation Corps. Albert married Geneva Theresa Flesch November 12, 1942 in Decatur and she preceded him in death July 19, 2007.
Surviving is his sister in law, Louise Flesch of Decatur; nieces & nephews: Robert E. Flesch, Jr, Denise Flesch, Geneva Ritchhart, Anthony Flesch and Jane Flesch; several great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, two sisters and nephew, Steven Flesch.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral service: 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at First Christian Church. Interment with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in Macon County Memorial Park.
