Alice Rice's Obituary
Decatur-Alice M. Southall-Rice, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 in Lincoln Manor Nursing Center with her family at her side.
A service to celebrate the life of Alice will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, with a visitation fom 1:00 p.m. till the time of the service. Interment will be at Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown.
Alice was born December 21, 1923 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Earl and Cora Harper Southall. Alice worked as a nursing aid for CHELP, private duty, and various nursing homes. She married Charlie H. Rice on October 3, 1995 in Decatur, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband Charlie; children, Edna Mae Rice Monk, Christine Rice, C. Etta Rice, James E. Rice, Henry L. Rice, Patricia A. Rice-Stanley, Claude A. Rice, Mary A. Rice-Bates, Phyllis Rice-Williams, Delores K. Rice Randall, Frances Douglas, and Willie Mae Brady; stepchildren, Wardine Bond and Elaven Wynn, Rossie L. Rainer Minnie, Willie Rainer, Frank Rainer Lisa, Louise Brown, and Vergie Rainer; brother, Fred L. Moore; and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Charlie H. Rice; stepchildren, Alice Rainer, Lawrence Rainer, Lestine Rainer.
The family of Alice acknowledges with deepest appreciation the extended family, staff members at Lincoln Rehab, and Dr. Gaurang Patel.
