Alvester "Butch" Graves' Obituary
Alvester “Butch” Graves, 67, of Decatur, formerly of Brownsville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Butch was born May 31, 1949, in Brownsville, Tennessee to Lorenza and Emma Sue (Neal) Graves, Sr. He worked at Macon Resources for many years. Butch loved word search puzzles, watching westerns, fishing and last but not least WWE wrestling.
He is survived by eleven brothers and sisters, Alfred Lee Graves of Brownsville, TN, Maggie (Willie) Jones of Decatur, Lorenza (Antionette) Graves II of Willingboro, NJ, Levornia (Nell) Graves of Lascassas, TN, Earl Thomas (Judy) Graves of Brown Mills, NJ, Bertha Abel of Decatur, Lonnie Graves of Brownsville, TN, Clora Lue Cunningham of Decatur, Otis Dean (Christean) Graves of Brownsville, TN, Alphonia Graves of Brownsville, TN and Cynthia Faye Parker of Brownsville, TN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Otis Taylor, Tracy, Tia and the whole team at Macon Resources.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eldridge and Larry Graves.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers on the 5th floor, Dr. Velasco, Dr. Derrick and the DMH Hospice.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Butch will be 1 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Rawls Funeral Home 36 South Jackson Avenue in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Tennessee. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. Memorials may be directed to Macon Resources 2121 Hubbard Ave, Decatur, IL 62526 or DMH Hospice.
