Amanda “Mae” Davis, 90, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Imboden Creek Living Center. Mae was born August 20, 1927, in Macon, IL to Robert Lee and Ella Mae (Lane) Larimore. She married Ralph E. Davis in 1945. Read Obituary
She was more than a grandmother. She was my mother and made me who I am today. I will miss her deeply.

I loved her like a grandma I will miss her. She always raised her arms and gave me a hug. I would never walked pass her without giving her a hug and covering her up if she was cold.
Aunt Mae was a wonderful Aunt…not to mention a hard worker! She always welcomed all the Davis nieces and nephews in her home and RARELY got mad at any of us for some of the stuff we'd pull. I remember the last time I saw her at the nursing home. We were walking down the hall and I saw this one resident's door LOADED with stuff. I leaned over to her and said: "Gee, Aunt Mae, you think that's a bit of overkill?" Well, she sure laughed about that and said: "Boy, Janet, you got THAT right." Rest in heavenly peace, Aunt Mae. I will always remember her giving me some small token for a cheap price when I was,a kid when she and Uncle Ralph had the some store in Windsor..miraculously always for the amount of change in my pocket lol. She was always smiling and laughing. I always thought she,was so pretty. In my adolescence I had some skin problems, and she helped me with Mary Kay teaching me about skin care and telling me how pretty I was… she made me feel so much better and gave me confidence . That meant slot to me at 13 yrs old.. I can remember her involvement in the 4-H group too. But mostly, her generous heart and her loving personality.
