Amanda Evelyn Williams' Obituary
Decatur-Amanda Evelyn Williams, 92 of Mt. Zion formerly of Ramsey, passed away 4:40 am Tuesday, July 12 in Mt. Zion with her family at her side.
Evelyn was born November 22, 1918 in Bone Gap, IL the daughter of John A. and Stella Mae Elliot Cortrecht. She married Russell E. Williams on May 12, 1935 in Assumption, IL. Evelyn was employed by Borg-Warner. She was a longtime member of the Ramsey Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Phyllis Goodbred of Mt. Zion; sons Larry Linda Williams of Ramsey, IL; Carl Lavone Williams of Lanesville, IN; Wayne Williams and friend Karen Korsgard of Decatur; Pete Sue Williams of Dalton City; and Merle Vicki Williams of Custer Park, IL; Evelyn was a proud grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, two sisters Ilene Burch and Fern Morton, grandson Scott Williams, and son-in-law Dean Goodbred.
A celebration of life service for Evelyn will be 11:00 am Friday, July 15, 2011 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Stevenor officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 10 – 11:00am at the funeral home. Committal service will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek, IL. Memorial donations may be directed to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church or to your charity of choice.
