Ann Lee Walters, 85, fell asleep in death Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was born August 20, 1940, in Galesburg, Illinois to Melvin & Mayme Dawson. She married Thomas L. Walters on July 18, 1964.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Widmer of Decatur, Illinois; four siblings - sister Jeri Stevenson of Oquawka, Illinois, sister Dena Miller of Iowa City, Iowa, brother George Glavis of Moline, Illinois and Dean Davison of Abingdon, Illinois; five grandchildren - Ryan Koch of Rome, NY, Erica Shinkarevich, Joseph Koch, and Erik Koch of Whitesboro, NY and Thomas Cruz of Decatur, Illinois; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Elizebeth Ann Koch and infant son, David.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1968 and maintained her integrity throughout her life. She loved to share her experience in finding biblical truth and continued to deepen her understanding of it over the years. It gave her tremendous optimism for the future, which she kept in clear focus. Her greatest joy was to be able to help others gain this knowledge, despite her naturally shy nature. Her family is the greatest beneficiary in this regard and we are so grateful for the path she took.
Moran and Goebel Funeral Home is providing cremation services. Condolences may be shared with the family at https://www.moranandgoebel.com.
