Anna Mae Shepherd's Obituary
Decatur- Anna Mae Shepherd Mae Mae, 70, of Decatur passed away at 10:30 pm Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Anna was born on February 4, 1941 in Morrisonville, IL the daughter of Othello Whitely and Bernadine B. Durbin Reddick. She married Ted Shepherd Jr. on November 15, 1985. She retired as Manager of the Holiday Inn Bar and Lounge.
She is survived by her husband, Ted; constant companions Rosie and Princess; daughter, Julie King; grandsons, Grant and Andrew King; Troy Ruby Shepherd; Cory Tab Griffin; nine great-grandchildren; father-in-law, Ted Shepherd Sr.; brother-in-law, Dwaine Deb Shepherd; sisters-in-law, Alma Shepherd; Barb Tom Bosio; nieces: Beckie, Geri, Teri, and Lisa; nephews: Chuck, Marty, Tom, and Bill; special friends: Marilyn Black, Diane Elliott, Judy Helm, Jackie Karmatis, Bill and Denise King, Jeff and Annie McCoy, Pam Parker, Josie Rambo, Sheryl Shay and Sharon Yonker; along with many other family members and friends.
Anna was a very special person who loved and was loved by everyone in her life, always helping everyone anyway possible.
She was preceded in death by her parents, constant companion Lucky, step-sons, Troy and Todd Shepherd, sisters Alice Williams and Della Hall, brother, Bill Reddick, niece Donna Knorr and son Zack, and nephew, Cliff Howard. The chain was broken but now is complete Anna was the last member of the Reddick family to leave this world. Together again be at peace Mae Mae we love you.
The family would like to thank the staff at SIU and DMH 4100 for their exceptional care and a special thank you to Sheryl Shay for the loving care to Anna.
Private graveside services will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society.
