Annie B. Holloway 54, Decatur, IL passed away peacefully with her family by her side at McKinley Court nursing home on Oct 17, 2010.
Annie, better known to friends and family as Nate, was born January 28, 1956 in Decatur, IL to Charles Charlie Holloway and Annabell Bennett. Annie graduated from Stephen Decatur. She never married. She worked at Imboden Creek Living Center As a cook for 15 years until her health wouldn’t allow her to continue. She made many friends at Imboden Creek, but she had three very special friends … Melinda Peoples, Loretta Jones and Paige Jones. Her passing has taken everyone by surprise and she will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her. Annie lived her life to the fullest and even with her two year battle with cancer; she always kept a smile on her face and never complained.
Annie leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son, Charles Holloway Kim and daughter, Darlene Holloway Brandon Jones, two brothers, Ernest Bennett Erma Lee, Decatur, IL, Charles Holloway Jr. Norma, Springfield, IL, and one sister, Mary Alice Grayned of Detroit Michigan. Annie also leaves to cherish her memories, her grandchildren whom she adored and loved very much, Kaaylan Holloway, Jakiya Harris, Kadasia Holloway, Adriana Holloway, Martaaza Ellen, and Matario Ellen Jr. She had a host of nieces and nephews, special ones which whom she spent most of her last days Marlene Beeler, Kathleen Bradford, Dominique and Terry Walker, and a special friend, Lucinda Maddox, of all Decatur, IL. Annie also had two special cousins who always came by and gave her a good laugh, Marvin Whitfield and Sabrina Moss both of Decatur, IL.
We would also like to especially say Thank You to the staff at DMH and McKinley Court that made Annie’s last days as comforting as possible.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Holloway and Anna Bennett, brothers, R.D. Bennett and William Bradford and one sister, Charlene Bennett.
Nate will be missed by all the hearts she warmed with her smile.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, October 22, 2010 in Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
