Anthony Frank Gerhart's Obituary
Anthony F. Gerhart, 85, of Forsyth, formerly of Chicago, peacefully departed on Sunday, January 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Anthony was born February 19, 1930, in Chicago, to Anton and Katherine (Schaefer) Gerhart. He married Marie Geib on April 25, 1953, at St. Benedict Church in Chicago. He spent most of his years with the Milk Drivers Union 753 amongst many other jobs to provide for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie; loving father of, Kathy (Ed) Schmitz, Michael Gerhart, Patty (Ted) Seger, Chris (Jeff) Buchanan, Richard Gerhart, Anthony (Lillian) Gerhart and Mary (Gaurang) Patel; loving grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 9; and a sister, Ann LaCerra.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Frank Gerhart.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016, at St. Benedict Church 3900 N Leavitt St, Chicago, IL 60618. Burial will be in Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and also 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Cooney Funeral Home 3918 W. Irving Park Rd. Chicago, IL 60618. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association.
