Anthony R. Samuelson's Obituary
Anthony R. “Tony” “T Dawg” Samuelson, 24, of Decatur, died Sunday, November 16, 2008.
Tony was born November 22, 1983, in Decatur, the son of Steven R. and Sharon L. Schmidt Samuelson. A 2002 graduate of St. Teresa High School and 2006 graduate of SIU Edwardsville, Tony was employed by J. J. Swartz as a home remodeler and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He loved sports of all kinds. He began playing with Northwest Baseball then football and basketball at St. Teresa before playing intramural sports at SIUE. He was recently having a great time playing softball on a team sponsored by the Wharf with many of his friends. Tony had no enemies. He was the most loving person to ever walk this earth. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. Tony dearly loved life and lived it to the max. He lived more in his 24 years than most people do in a lifetime. Tony would not want you to grieve about him, but to celebrate the time he spent on this earth.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Sharon Samuelson and sister, Katie Samuelson of Decatur; grandparents: Howard and Ginny Schmidt of Rockford; aunts: Bobbie Henson of Decatur, Marilyn Samuelson of Decatur, Julie Jim Woodward of Kirkland, Angie Schmidt of Milwaukee, WI, and Carrie Mic Badertscher of Winnebago; cousins: Jenny Samuelson, Beau Henson, Dusty Henson, William Woodward, Annie Woodward, Zach Badertscher, Allisen Badertscher, and Emma Badertscher along with many-many special friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Maxine Samuelson.
