Jim Parker
I can’t think of a single event that stands out more than others in my memories of Fay. Instead, what I recall most vividly was his love of fast-pitch softball 🥎, and his skill as both a batter and shortstop in driving in runs and turning double plays for his teams: the Decatur Merchants, Riley’s, and the Cerro Gordo VanHorns.
Fay was a good man and a hero to me, as his little-est brother-in-law and biggest fan.
I look forward to seeing him again on down the line, where I hear it’s always a good day for a game (or better yet) a doubleheader!
God bless you, Fuzz, and thanks for the kindness and all the cool memories!
