Arthur Paul Fleckenstein's Obituary
Arthur Paul Fleckenstein, 85, of Decatur, passed away August 9, 2018 at Fair Havens Christian Village in Decatur.
Paul was born August 20, 1932 in Decatur, IL, the son of, Arthur Leroy and Petronella Teresa (Hemrich) Fleckenstein. He married Judith Peters on February 24, 1962 in Decatur, IL at St. Patrick’s Parish.
Paul had proudly served in the US Air Force. As a civilian he was employed as a maintenance man at St. Mary’s Hospital from 1962 – 1976, and later a maintenance crewman for Firestone, serving from 1976 – 1994. After his retirement from Firestone, he accepted a part time position with Decatur Auto Auction.
Surviving are his wife, Judith; children, Daniel Paul Fleckenstein of Decatur, IL, Lisa Heil of Decatur, IL; siblings, Anthony Fleckenstein of Florida, Millie Zimmerman of Springfield, IL, Mary Agnes Fleckenstein of Wisconsin, Marcelita Fleckenstein of Wisconsin; grandchildren, David Heil (Kathy) of Decatur, IL, Robert Heil of Decatur, IL; great grandchildren, Merissa Folkers and Matthew Heil of Decatur, IL.
Paul was preceded in death by both of his parents, son, John Joseph Fleckenstein, siblings, Leonard Fleckenstein, Herbert Fleckenstein, Mary Yakey and Daughter in law, Kathleen Fleckenstein.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday August 14, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Parish. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the church. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park.
Memorials: Charity of the Donor’s choice.
