Arthur "Bud" L. Johnson's Obituary
Arthur “Bud” L. Johnson, 87, of Decatur, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Bud was born June 28, 1926 in Arthur, IL, the son of Delbert and Goldie (Watts) Johnson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a carpenter in Peoria, and he loved to fish in his spare time. He married Pauline Williams in 1948. She preceded him in death in 1975. He later married Betty Thompson on February 2, 2001 in Effingham, IL. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2013.
Bud leaves behind his son, Richard Johnson of Decatur, IL; stepdaughter, Paula Bradley of Decatur; sisters, Norma Richardson of Decatur, IL; Beulah Morganthaler of Phoenix, AZ; Lois Beveridge of Decatur; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Pauline Johnson and Betty Johnson; parents; son, David Johnson, and sisters, Ruby Mendenall and Alberta Mendenall.
Services to celebrate Arthur’s life will be 2 pm Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Boiling Springs cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
The family would like to give special thanks to the DMH Hospice nurses and staff for all of their loving care and support.
