Arthur Taylor's Obituary
Anthony Arthur Taylor, 82, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at McKinley Court Care Centre in Decatur.
He was born October 21, 1931, in Brownsville, TN, the son of the late Alex and Eva Taylor. Tony (Art) as he was affectionately called served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He retired from the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Mt. Zion, IL giving him more time to pursue his passion of fishing and cooking until his health failed. He had a caring spirit, always a friend to everyone he met. He was truly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters, Alma Wills of Chicago, IL and Kitty Margaret Hills of Ypsilanti, MI; seven children, Roshelle, Michelle, Tamara, Christopher, Tony, Mckeitha and Breanna; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a loving friend of many years Sheila Neal; special cousin Robert (Bobby) Taylor and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mattie, five brothers, James, Fred, Alex Jr., Thomas and Meddie.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Camp Butler in Springfield.
