Barbara Jean Currin's Obituary
Barbara Jean Currin, 86, Of Naperville, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Meadow Brook Manor of Naperville.
Barbara was born on October 30, 1932 in Caruthersville, MO a daughter of Sadie Currin. She grew up in Caruthersville and later relocated to Decatur during her early adulthood where she remained until relocating to Naperville in 2005, Barbara Jean was primarily a homemaker and babysat her grandchildren as needed. At the time of her passing she was a resident of Meadowbrook Manor, where she was known as the “Bingo Queen”. She participated in every activity offered and enjoyed the church services and listening to old R & B classics.
She leaves to mourn her two children: Gary Allan Currin Sr of Decatur and Barbara Ann (Danny) Parker of Naperville; sixteen grandchildren: Danny Jr, Nina, Tadzia, Kendall, Concepcion, Nikki, Angela, Gary Jr, Titiana, Cameron, Deanira, Tomari, Katara, Kawanda, Donald and Jacon; and a host of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and two children: Debra Currin Briggs and Jean Lynette Currin.
Homegoing services will held at 11am on Saturday October 5, 2019 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Elder Vanessa Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Decatur.
