Barbara Lynn Ernst's Obituary
Barbara “Barbie” Lynn Ernst, 62, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Decatur, IL. She was born to William and Mary Ellis on October 21, 1962, in Decatur, IL.
She enjoyed thrifting, learning new things, charity, and giving to others less fortunate. She was a cosmetologist who loved sharing her skills with family and friends. She was very thorough and passionate about doing a good job at her occupation in the housekeeping field. She loved her family, grandchildren, animals and God.
Barbara is survived by her significant other James Palmer; son Michael Gardner; grandchildren Yasmeen Gardner and Yondrea Gardner; and siblings Larry, Darrel, Delbert, Ronnie, Sharron and Janis. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Ellis; and siblings Brenda Garner, Betty Ellis, Judy Taylor, Linda Ellis, Jerry Ellis, Bobby Ellis and Keith Ellis.
Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Barbara. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Monday, September 8, at the funeral home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be shared with the family at https://www.moranandgoebel.com.
