Uncle Jim and Family. We were saddened by the news and send our sympathy. I will always have great memories of the times together, particularly at the house on Main Street when we were small kids. There was never a dull moment! I always remember the home made ice cream making, "burglars" coming in the house at 3am, Barney (and beloved successors), and learning what it was like to be part of a big family.I will also always remember Aunt Barb's smiling face that also always reminded me of grandma. It was great to catch up with Jim and Barb this past year on our way back from St Louis and happy our kids got to see the force that was Aunt Barbara. We all will miss her.
Susie and Family…I am so sorry to hear of your Mom passing away….I spent alot of time in my teen years and college years at the Niesman house. Barb always took the time to talk to us and she laughed at all of the funny things we did. Very good memories!
From John Wenzelman: I had the pleasure of being one of Steve's roommates in college. Mrs. Niesman was always a pleasure to see and a pleasure to be with. She will be missed but leaves a wonderful footprint here on earth. She raised a great family!

From Gretchen Reynolds, Ingrid's sister: The first time I met Barb, I had gone to Decatur from Chicago to meet my then 1-year-old niece, Moira. Mike was my brother-in-law, of course, but I wasn't otherwise related to Barb. But she welcomed me as if I were long-lost kin and sent me home with about 20 pounds of beautifully cooked beef. I lived by myself then and was a vegetarian, but none of that mattered. She showered people with love and meals and will be greatly missed.
