Barbara Jean (Richardson) Rambo's Obituary
Barbara Jean (Richardson) Rambo departed this earth on Oct. 29, 2019, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Barbara was born to Donald and Rose (Maronto) Richardson in Decatur, Il on Feb. 23, 1932. She graduated from St. Theresa High School. While working various jobs and raising her 7 children, she obtained her Real Estate license, eventually opening her own business, which she ran for 30 years. Barbara was always a very active, lively person, who loved doing things for others. She especially loved making beautiful crocheted gifts for family and friends. Barbara was a lifetime member of the Decatur Moose Lodge, Decatur Eagles Lodge, VFW and American Legion.
She leaves behind her children: Charles (Donna) Cissna, Albuquerque, N.M., Robert (Paula) Cissna, Eustis, Florida, Connie (Larry) Moon, Decatur, IL, Thomas Cissna, Goshen, IN, Donald Engel, Decatur, IL, Donna Dillman, Decatur, IL, and Elizabeth (Sonny) Lowry, Decatur, IL; sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Robinson, San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Linda (Michael) Richardson, Decatur, IL; many, many grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren and lots of loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Charles Cissna, Donald Engel and Richard Rambo, her parents, brothers, Donald Richardson and Michael Richardson, and one grandson, Stephen Dillman.
Barbara was known by many titles, daughter, sister, mom, aunt, grandma Boo Boo, Grandma Rainbow, Grambo, Big Grandma and various other forms of Grandma. It was her most favorite role and job in life without a doubt. She created her own doughnut route which serviced all of her children and grandchildren’s homes.
She always had stories about the old people in our family and their various escapades. She leaves us with many rich memories of the times we had together right up to her very last breath. We already miss her terribly. See you in heaven, mama.
