Barbara Faye Wallace's Obituary
Barbara Faye Wallace went to be with her Lord and savior on Monday, January 23, 2017. She was born August 14, 1930 in Decatur, IL the daughter of James Oscar & Clara Opal (Newcum) Cheshier.
She was married to the love of her life, John Thomas Wallace until he passed away in 1992 and they had two children, Robin Jones (Stan) of Hazelwood, MO and Spencer Wallace (Persis) of St. Petersburg, FL.
She has 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister Janet K. Dunaway of Decatur, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara loved her family, hiking, camping, square dancing, music, riding their boat on Canyon Lake when she lived in Arizona, and was a volunteer at Mesa Hospital. She loved Arizona and never tired of going to the Grand Canyon where she took many family and friends when they came to visit.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff of Symphony of Decatur, Harbor Hospice and Raegan Jahn’s for all their care and concern for Barbara.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sharon Richter of Mt. Zion, IL and brother James Cheshier of Decatur, IL.
Barbara was a soft-spoken, caring woman who never knew a stranger and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be 11 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Symphony of Decatur Activities Fund.
