Barry D. Lynch's Obituary
Decatur – Barry D. Lynch, 58, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 in his home.
Barry was born to Philip C. Lynch, MD and Dorothy (Bostian) Lynch on May 5, 1955 in Decatur, IL. He was a graduate of St. Bede Academy, Peru, IL, “Clss” of ‘73. He married Nancy (Cullison) Lynch on May 30, 1981 in Forsyth, IL. He worked as an Executive Chef and Food Broker throughout the Midwest. Barry enjoyed cooking, his friends, spending time with his family and his Ellie Pup. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha and was honored as Chi Omega Dad of The Year (DOTY), and an Honorary Degree from Grandmaster Joong S. Chung (World Tae Kwon Do Association).
He is survived by his wife Nancy Lynch of Decatur, IL; daughter Shondra Lynch of Decatur, IL; son Daniel Lynch, PharmD (Miranda Britsch, PharmD) of Whitestown, IN; father Philip Lynch, MD of Decatur, IL; brother Philip “Skee” Lynch Jr. (Connie) of Taylorville, IL; sister Nancy (Lynch) Miller (Gregory) of Durham, NC; brother Jeffery Lynch of Richmond, KY; sister Dana Lynch of Kansas City, MO; brother Nicholas Lynch (Elizabeth) of Charleston, WV; sister Adrienne Lynch (Gary) of Decatur, IL; sister Megan Lynch of Mooresville, IN; brothers-in-law: James Cullison (Denise) of Atwood, IL; Dennis Cullison (Patricia) of San Diego, CA; Keith Cullison (Julia) of Warsaw, IN; sister-in-law Marsha Stelzriede of Forsyth, IL; eight nieces, eight nephews, and Ellie.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Juenne Lynch; father-in-law Everett Cullison; mother-in-law Mary Cullison; brother-in-law Steve Stelzriede, and Helen Nelson. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Monday, March 24, 2014 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 pm Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Fr. Harold Batzman. Burial will follow in South Macon Cemetery, Macon, IL. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Bede Academy.
