Beatrice M. Brinkman's Obituary
Beatrice M. Brinkman, 92, of Decatur, passed away in the presence of her daughter into the arms of Jesus Thursday, March 7, 2013 in McKinley Court Care Center.
Services to celebrate Beatrice's life will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, with Pastor Wes Feltner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Beatrice was born March 13, 1920 in Somerset, KY, the daughter of Herschel and Flossie (Dye) Henderson.She married Samuel Holmes, and then later William Brinkman. She worked inthe housekeeping department at Decatur Memorial Hospital for 11 years until her retirement in 1990.
Beatrice leaves behind her daughter, Sandra Kaye(Holmes) Henry of Decatur; son-in-law, Bill Conroy of Decatur; grandchildren, Susan(Williams) Dolanand husband John of Phoenix, AZ; Darrell Williams and wife Terriof Terre Haute, IN; Lindsey (Hartwig) Sheppard and husband Micahof Decatur; great-grandchildren, Delani Williams of Terre Haute, IN; Christian and Liam Sheppard of Decatur, IL; special nephew, David Holmes and wife Barbara of Decatur, IL; and special niece, Penny Rucker and husband Deal of Gladstone, MO. She also leaves behind several other special nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Wilma Grotjan; Sharon Frye; Marie Cole.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Ann (Holmes) Conroy; brother, Elza Henderson; and sisters, Goldie Holmes; Ruby Stephens; and Bernice Reid.
The family wishes to thank Dr. David Baumberger and his staff, as well as the staff of McKinley Court Care Center for their many years of compassionate care. A special thank you to Leslie Strohl, Rose, nurses JoEllen, Tianna, Dora, and Leslie, and CNAs Miriam, Tasha, and Tracey.
Bea was dearly loved by her family and friends, and they will miss her strength, her sense of humor, and her witty remarks. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. They rejoice in the assurance that Bea found peace near the end of her life through faith in Jesus as her Savior.
