Benjamin Lee Cameron's Obituary
Benjamin Lee “Ben” Cameron, 58, of Decatur, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Ben was born February 24, 1950, in Decatur, the son of Earl Raymond and Alice Marie Parks Cameron. A 1969 graduate of Argenta-Oreana High School, Ben worked as sales manager for Black & Company for over 20 years before retiring from that position in 2002. He then began work as a salesman at Perry’s Car Lot until he retired from there in 2006. Ben was a member of St.’s James & Patrick Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #1151. He married Frances M. Ochs on January 3, 1977 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife, Fran of Decatur; daughters: Jessica Marie Cameron and Jennifer Lee Cameron of Decatur; brother, Donald Judy Cameron of Sugar Grove, VA; sisters: Cynthia Cameron and Katherine Cameron of Decatur; nephew, Christopher Charles Cameron of Sugar Grove, VA; mother-in-law, Emma Georganna Ochs of Greenup; sister-in-law, Bonita Osborne and her children, Shane and Lance of Flora; brothers-in-law: Terrell Cassandra Stewart and their children, Kendra, Erica, Nathan and Nicholas of Toledo and Ralph Elna Ochs and their children, Clinton and Andrea of Greenup.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10 am Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. Memorials: St. Patrick School, Our Lady of Lourdes School or Scovill Zoo.
The family wishes to thank the Physicians and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the excellent care given to Ben as well as the care, concern and compassion shown to them during these past few days.
