Bennie Franklin Aldridge's Obituary
Maroa- Bennie Franklin Aldridge, 75 of Maroa passed away peacefully in his home on Friday August 10, 2012 after a long struggle with congestive heart failure with his family by his side.
Bennie was born in St. Elmo, IL on November 29, 1936 the son of Cecil E. and Rosa Z. (Wheat) Aldridge. He attended grade school in Altamont, IL before moving to Decatur in 1953. Here he attended Centennial Jr. High School. Bennie married Carol Jean Wilkinson on June 16, 1956. He worked for Wabash Hospital, Eisner Food, Crane Potato Chip, J&M Brokers and finished his career owning a mom pop store in Chestnut, IL. He and carol retired from there in 2006 after 18 wonderful years. Bennie was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur.
Bennie is survived by his loving wife Carol of 56 years; 4 daughters and sons-in-law Karen (Steven) Murry of Hayworth, IL., Judith (Nathan) Greene of Columbus, IN., Linda (John) Heckman of Maroa and Nancy (John) Medlin of Normal, IL.; 8 Grandchildren. 2 step Grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Cecil Aldridge of Harristown and Bob Aldridge of Hudsonville, IL.; 3 sisters Joyce DeClerg, Mary Ashby and Debbie Genstee all of Decatur.
Bennie is preceded in death by his parents.
Service to celebrate Bennie's life will be10AM Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in First Baptist Church 1320 Arbor Dr., Decatur. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday in the Church. Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery and conclude with the Flight Home Ceremony. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Maroa EMT or donor's choice.
