Beno B. Green's Obituary
Beno Green was born September 18, 1923, in Blanchard, OK to Monroe and Melissie (Hudson) Green Sr. He graduated from Booker T. High School in Purcell, OK. He attended Lanston University in Oklahoma. He served in the Army in World War II and was honorably discharged. He was ordained as a minister in Chicago, IL. On February 14, 1958, Beno was united in holy matrimony to Viola Turner in Chicago, IL. He was employed as a factory worker at A.O. Smith and retired after many years of service. While working he also maintained a farm and was a clergyman.
Beno departed this life Friday, June 12, 2015, while at Eastview Terrace in Sullivan, IL.
He leaves to cherish his memories, sons, Beno Green Jr. of Bronx, NY; Willie (Rose) Green of Champaign, IL; daughters, Juanita Span of Davenport, IA; Margaret (Gary) Jones of Decatur; Vicky (Roy) Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Juanita Cummings of East Moline, IL; and Beatrice Boardingham of Purcell, OK.
He is preceded in death by his father, Monroe Green Sr.; mother, Melissie Green; siblings, Queen Esther Cook, Benjamin Green, Tannie Green, Monroe Green Jr., Nureal Green, Esaw Green, and Lusta Green.
Services to celebrate Beno’s life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services. Burial with military rites will be held at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
