Betty M. Brown's Obituary
Betty Brown, 89, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family and Father Rick Weltin.
Betty was born on November 25, 1923 in Coffeen, IL, the daughter of Ivy Otto and Elsie Bone Cline. She graduated from Hillsboro High School. On November 12, 1945 she married Leonard Brown. She was his loving and devoted wife for 55 years until his passing in 2001. She and Leonard were founding members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was devoted to her family and loved traveling with them.
Surviving are her son, Michael Brown and wife Daryl of Sharps Chapel, TN; daughters, Jean McCane and husband Ron of Decatur; Barb Smith of Peoria; Phyllis Fox and husband Cordell of Byron, GA.
Grandchildren are: Greg Brown and wife Amy; of Plano, IL; Adrienne Brown of Plano, IL; Steve McCane and wife Gail of Bloomington, IL; Laurie Zollinger of Sterling, IL; Bill Smith and wife Kedra of Plainfield, IL; Jennifer Shepherd and husband Keith of Peoria, IL; Jami Zenthoefer and husband Brad of Decatur; and Meagan Wilson of Lynn, MA.
Great-grandchildren are: Devin, Kiley, and Corbin Brown; Cameron and Zachary Bowne; Paul and Collin Zollinger; Amanda and Caitlin McCane; Kaylor, Haley, and Jordan Smith; Cherall, Chantel, Janay, and Nathan Shepherd; William and Lorelei Zenthoefer; Dageus Wilson and Daniel Cote.
Loving sister, Rosie Voyles of Springfield, IL along with many nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Fred Brown and wife Wanda of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, her twin brother, Bruce, and grandson, Andrew James Lomax (son of Phyllis and Cordell Fox).
Visitation will be 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4th at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday in St. John’s Cemetery, Coffeen, IL
