Betty J. Ellis' Obituary
Betty Jean Ellis, 55, of Decatur, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016, in her home surrounded by her family.
Betty was born July 6, 1961 in Brownstown, IL to William Edward and Mary Jane (Roberts) Ellis. She loved watching ghost stories, How it’s made and other TV shows. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Robert Ellis, Danny (Tiffany) Nichols and Tiffany Ellis all of Decatur; her loving companion, James Palmer of Decatur; five grandchildren, Kimberly Ellis, Tyrice Caldwell Jr., Kikia Caldwell. Danny Nichols III and Nicholas Ellis; four brothers, Larry (Janet) Ellis of Decatur, Darrell Ellis of Decatur, Delbert Ellis of Decatur and Ronnie (Twila) Ellis of Huntsville, AL; five sisters, Sharon (Steve) Brown of Oreana, Judy (Ed) Taylor of Stewartson, IL, Barb Ernst of Decatur, Janice Durbin of Decatur and Brenda Gardner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William Keith Ellis, Jerry Ellis and Bobby Ellis; and one sister, Linda Kay Ellis.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and especially Cathy.
Graveside services to celebrate the life of Betty Jean Ellis will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
