Betty Sue Jester's Obituary
Betty Sue (McKeel) Jester 86, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Fair Haven Christian Home.
Betty was born May 16, 1930 in St. Louis, MO, Illinois, the daughter of Clyde and Daisy J. (McKeel) Henley. She was retired from Borg-Warner with over 30 years of service. Betty was a director and officer of the Decatur Women’s Bowling Association, and the Decatur Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed bowling, and spending time with her family. She married Wilbia M. Jester on December 10, 1970 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1995. They shared 24 wonderful years together.
Betty leaves behind her sons, David (Kay) Ray of Kent, WA, Michael D. Ray and s/o Roberta Monson of Decatur, Ronald C. (Sharon) Ray of Riverton, Dan L. (John Parsons) Ray of West Hollywood, CA; daughter, Cheryl (Russell) Carr of Decatur; grandchildren, Jessica Flatt, Anastasia Ray, Amy Harper, Cody Ray, Jamie Whicker, Rhianna, Ryan, and Jake Ray and Lori, Robert, Amy, and Angela Carr along with their spouses and significant others; sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of extended family members.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her brother, William McKeel, one grandson, Christopher Ray, and step-grandson, Russell Carr.
Services to celebrate Betty’s life will be 11a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family, C/O Cheryl Carr or Alzheimer’s Association or Make A Wish Foundation.
