Betty L. Stephens' Obituary
Betty L. King Stephens 78 of Decatur died Monday April 14, 2008 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Friday April 18, 2008 in First Free Will Baptist Church, 2709 N. 27th Street, Decatur. Visitation will be 6:00 ' 8:00 pm Thursday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Heartland Nursing Home Alzheimer Unit.
Betty was born on March 16, 1930 in Naylor, MO the daughter of Bud and Arminta Messenger King. She married Charley Stephens on October 9, 1947 in Pocahontas, AR.
Surviving are her husband, Charley; son, Richard Stephens Diane of Cowden, IL; daughters, Teresa Willard Bob McCourt of Decatur; Kathy Marquis of Decatur; sister, Maxine Darnell of Chevy Chase, MD; brother, Larry King Cindy of Belleville; sister-in-law, Eloise King of Poplar Bluff, MO; brother-in-law, Lloyd Croy Jr. of Jewett; grandchildren, Michelle Ronnick, Steve Woodson, Connie Woodson, Renee Spangenberg, Jennifer Marquis, and Dianna Bell Anderson; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
The family would like to thank Dr. Carlos Fior and staff, and Heartland Nursing Home Alzheimer Staff for all their care.
