Betty Utsler 75 of Decatur passed away at 3:31 pm on Tuesday May 24, 2005 in Saint Mary's Hospital.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be 1:30 pm Friday May 27, 2005 in Emanuel Baptist Church; visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday May 26, 2005 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Betty was born September 16, 1929 in Decatur the daughter of Nicholas and Alta Denham York She married Dale Utsler on July 6, 1947 in Decatur. Betty had various part-time sales positions; but he most important job was mother and homemaker. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed various church activities during her life, including being church historian, librarian and secretary. She attended Mount Zion High School and later earned her GED.
Surviving include her loving husband Dale of Decatur, her sons, Ronald Utsler of Plainfield, IL and Everett Utsler of Bloomington, IL, and her daughters; Janis Utsler of Bloomington and Michelle Bartlett and husband Mark of Decatur; grandchildren, Jacki Auton, Kathy White, Natalie Hubner, Sean Gustafson, Rachel Utsler, Seth Utsler, Dylan Smalley, Parker Smalley, McKenzie Bartlett and Madelyn Bartlett and three great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Sonja White and brother Ivan York and sister Lucy York and two grandchildren Christina Utsler and Melissa Utsler.
Betty's life was a blessing to all who knew her; and her family and many friends will miss her dearly.
