Beverley Ann Kleiss' Obituary
Beverley Ann Kleiss, 94, of Forsyth, IL, passed away April 18, 2024 at Hickory Point Christian Village.
Beverley was born July 30, 1929 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Vincent Joseph and Mildred Grace (Dobson) Cahill. She married Jack Kleiss in Decatur, IL at St. James Catholic Church in 1949 and they enjoyed 74 happy years together. Together they were Charter Members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. They also enjoyed spending many winters in Florida.
Beverley was a 1947 graduate of St. Teresa High School. She had worked for Decatur Public School District 61 and retired from her position as a secretary to the librarian.
Beverley enjoyed sewing, quilting and many years of playing tennis and racquetball.
She is survived by her children, Pat Kerner of Arcola, IL, Linda Carlson of Lakeville, MN, Phil Kleiss (Jennifer) of Woodstock, GA, John Kleiss (Mikia) of Clinton, IL, Tom (Julie) Kleiss of Lake Quivira, KS; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John C. “Jack” Kleiss; her parents; sister, Margaret Laughery and son in law, Mike Kerner.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery.
Memorials: St. Teresa High School and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
