Billie R. Groves' Obituary
Billie R. Groves age 75 of Decatur went to be with the Lord at 9:50 pm January 21, 2004 in the Aspen Ridge Care Center.
Funeral Services will be at 11 am Saturday January 24, 2004 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 9-11 am Saturday January 24, 2004 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billie was born in Decatur, IL on September 14, 1928 the son of James Roscoe and Wilfred Waltz Groves. He was Service and Production Manager for Cashco, Inc. in Elsworth, Kansas for over 35 years. He was affiliated with Parkway Nazarene Church. He married Madonna Stout Webb on July 28, 1962 in Decatur, IL. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Army.
Billie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, two sons; Curtis and wife Patty Groves of Decatur, IL and Steven Webb also of Decatur, IL., his daughter; Pamela Groves of Springfield, IL., his brothers, Barton Brandriff of Florida and Barron Brandriff of Bondville, IL., sisters; Barbara Lucas of Decatur, IL., Jane Ellen Hurt and husband Bob of Shawnee, Kansas. Seven grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother who raised him Miriam Groves, sisters - Virginia Campbell, Shirley Deadmond and Winnie Kockendorfer.
Billie was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
