Billie Dean Harris' Obituary
Billie Dean Harris, 75, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Billie was born April 11, 1937 in Decatur, son of Harold and Clara (Hunter) Harris. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church and painters Local #288, Billie worked as a union painter for 50 years. He and his wife Beverly just celebrated 40 years of marriage on March 19. They were very blessed to have each other that many years. Bill loved his trips and being with his friends Barbara Henneberry, Sweet William and Shirley just to name a few. Surviving are his wife, Beverly of Decatur; children: Tommy Harris of Decatur, Laurie (Jerry) Krull of Mokena, Angela (Matt) Clark of Decatur, and Timothy (Laura) Force of Chicago; grandchildren: Joshua, Alex, Ben, and baby Noah; and granddaughter, Alexandra; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jerry and Butch and sister, Delores. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 9 a.m. until the service time at 10 a.m. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Boiling Springs Cemetery concluding with the 'Flight Home' ceremony. Memorials: Northeast Community Fund. The family would to give thanks to their wonderful Doctor John Bradley and all of his interns. They were so special taking care of Bill. Also thank you to Dr. John Waters who always took good care of bill. His nurse was excellent and very kind. Thank you Sharon! To the SIU nurses, God's Blessings to you all! You were all so kind and wonderful. He was the most wonderful husband, father and grandfather anyone could have. Bill, your suffering is all gone now. You're in Heaven now and at peace.
