Billy R. Anderson's Obituary
Billy Ray Anderson, 66, of Decatur passed from this life on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Billy was born on September 2, 1947 in Brownsville, TN the son of Rev. Arthur and Willie Lee (Taylor) Anderson. He was employed at Grace United Methodist Church. He loved laughing. He brought laughter and happiness to everyone that he met. We will cherish the many memories that he gave to us with that smile to last until we meet again.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his, daughters, Theresa Bramlett of Decatur; Theresa Jones of Decatur; Cherita Richardson of Decatur; Latonya Richardson of Decatur; Anquetta Ruckers of Chicago; sons, Billy Anderson Jr. of Chicago; Billy Richardson of Decatur; Demetrius Richardson of Decatur; sisters, Mary Ann Childs of Decatur; Jean Childs of Decatur; Geraldine Anderson of Decatur; Charlene Wilson of Decatur; brothers, Floyd L. Jackson of California; Michael Anderson of Decatur; a loving host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a special friend Debra Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank special friends, Michael Green and Terry Jones, special cousins, Scotty Anderson and David Mabon, , DMH Hospice staff: Jim, Diane, and Heather, DMH nursing staff, Pastor and all the staff and members of Grace United Methodist Church, and all of Billy’s friends to many to mention but always in our hearts for all their thoughts, prayers, care and thoughtfulness extended to Billy during his illness.
Service to celebrate Billy’s life will be 11 AM Monday, February 3, 2014 in Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Sig Bjorklund officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Monday in the church. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.
