Billy Scott Oden's Obituary
Billy Scott Oden, age 62 was called home by his Heavenly Father on June 9, 2026, in Decatur, IL. Known to his family and friends as Scott, he was born August 26, 1963, to Billy Joe and Linda Merle (Kemp) Oden in North Kansas City, MO. His early childhood years were spent in North Kansas City moving to Kearney, MO at the age of eight. The family later moved to Hale, MO, where Scott graduated from Hale High School. In 1992, Scott married Carol Duffer and to this union two children were born, Amanda Marie and Anthony Scott.
Scott had a strong faith in the Lord. He loved all sports, but his passion was fishing and bow hunting. He took great pride in teaching his son Anthony to bow hunt and being in the woods and on a riverbank fishing with him. Being outdoors and working for Knob Hill Landscaping in Springfield, IL, and spending time with his son and grandchildren brought him joy and peace. He is survived by his son Anthony, his wife Krissie, grandsons Cameron, Maddox and William, granddaughters Ava and Ariel. His mother Linda, brothers Barry Joe and Timothy Dean and sisters Jonne Marie and KerriLynn. Many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Amanda and his father Bill. A memorial service will be held at a later date
