Bobby Keith Powers 66 died Tuesday November 8, 2005 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service celebrating the life of Bobby will be 10:00 am Saturday November 12, 2005 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Bobby was born on May 1, 1939 in Vandalia the son of Grandville Keith "Bob" and Vivian Barnes Powers. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vandalia and attended Church at Calvary Baptist Church. He retired from Firestone in 2001 as a tire builder. He married Phyllis Koonce on June 17, 1963 in Vandalia.
Surviving is his wife Phyllis, son, David Powers and wife Melanie of Whiteland, IN; daughters Shelly Hood and husband Scott of Decatur; Sandy Powers of Decatur; sister, Joyce Kwedras of Vandalia; grandchildren, Katlynn, Brittany, Haley, Jacob, and Sam; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
