Brian Keith Shookman's Obituary
Brian Keith Shookman, 65, of Mt. Zion passed away on March 28,2024 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 4, 1958, to Robert and Dorothy Shookman.
He graduated from the Maroa-Forsyth High School class of 1976 where he played basketball. He attended and graduated the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1981 and worked as a pharmacist for over forty years. He was an avid sports fan that loved the Fighting Illini and the St. Louis Cardinals. He liked visiting historical sites locally and while on vacation. He also was a faithful and active member of the Trinty Lutheran Church in Decatur. Brian also had a love for all animals, especially his babies Reagan and Oliver.
Brian is survived by his wife Anna Shookman; mother, Dorothy Shookman; daughter, Denise Shookman; stepdaughters, Becky (Mitchell) VanZant and Rachel (Dan) Allan; brothers, Alan Shookman and Dennis (Kathy) Shookman; 5 step-grandchildren and close friend, Greg Sullivan as well as numerous extended family and friend.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Trinty Lutheran Church of Decatur.
Brian was preceded in death by his late wife, Mindy Shookman; father, Robert Shookman; and stepson Todd Walters.
A visitation will be held for Brian at Trinity Lutheran Church on April 4, 2024, from 10am to 12pm with a funeral service to follow. Brian will be inurned at the Star of Hope mausoleum on a later date.
