Brittney Morgan Brown, 42, of Decatur, IL, passed away on March 22, 2024 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. Brittney was born on July 15, 1981, in Decatur, IL. She was the daughter of Julian and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Matos.
Brittney’s vibrant spirit and sense of humor made her the life of the party. As a Secretary in the auto sales industry, she brought her wit and charm to her work. She leaves behind cherished memories for her siblings: Mary Elizabeth Warnsley of Decatur, IL, Laura Annette Peoples of Decatur, IL, Ericka Nicole Brown of Stafford, VA, Amber Matos of Decatur, IL, Julito Matos of Decatur, IL, Antonio Matos of Decatur, IL, Valeria Matos of Decatur, IL, Angela Matos of Tennessee, Julian Matos Jr of Tennessee, Gualvi Matos of Decatur, IL, Maria Samon of Memphis, TN, Leah Neideffer of Decatur, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews, special aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Preceding in death are her mother, Mary Elizabeth Matos; maternal grandparents, Leah and Parker Brown.
Brittney’s legacy will be remembered fondly by those who knew her. May she rest in peace. Memorial service will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 6, 2024 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon - 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
