Carl G. James' Obituary
Funeral services celebrating his life will be 1:00 pm Saturday May 15, 2004 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Eckert officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 am -1:00 pm Saturday in the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in the North Fork Cemetery. Carl was born June 5, 1927 in Bloomington, IL the son of Edward and Clevie Shields James. He married Rosa Lee Beiler on June 24, 1951 in Decatur. He was a retired sheet metal worker. He was Past Master of Great Light Masonic Lodge 1064 A.F. & A.M., WWII US Navy Veteran and a Lifetime Member of VFW. Carl was also a Member of SKI Klub of Illinois where he held many offices and was a very active member for over forty-one years. He was an avid Fisherman and a master sheet metal worker. Carl loved his Children and Grandchildren very dearly.
Surviving are his wife, son William "Bill" of Decatur; daughter Michele" Shelly" Chenoweth and husband Mike of Oreana; grandchildren, Cara, Chris, Randy and wife Tammy, Billy, Ryan, and Chelsea and FiancÃ?©e Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Zack, Ashley, Cerena, Caleb, Allie, Billy, A.J., and R.J.; brother Wilmoth "Bill" and wife Harriet of Shelbyville, sisters, Lucille White and husband Robert of Chicago, Betty Gentry and husband Lyle of Decatur; sister-in-law Paulene Ferguson; special niece Darlene Oyler; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Becky Gibbens, great-grandson Cody Warnhoff, Special nephew Lewis Oyler, his parents, and three sisters.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Kris Patel, Melody, and his second family the SKI Klub of Illinois for all their caring help. They would also like to thank all the friends who visited him and help him pass the Long days of his illness.
I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
