Carl Miles' Obituary
Carl Miles, 83, of Decatur, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Decatur.
Carl was born June 15, 1925, in Detroit, MI, the son of John and Anna Kervalkoski Wierzbinski. A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Carl worked as a foreman at Grigolet before retiring. He married Helen M. Myer June 23, 1951 and she preceded him in death on December 28, 1983.
Surviving is his daughters: Marian significant other, Kenny Biggers Reed of Elwin and Theresa husband, Richard Brownlow of Decatur; grandchildren: Ryan wife, Laurie Reed, Rhonda husband, Anthony Weiner, Erin husband, Devlin McKee, Nathan Brownlow, Richard Brownlow and Leah Miles-Levine; great granddaughter due in May, Alexandra; brother, Ray Wierzbinski of Detroit, MI; best friend, Helen Trolia of Decatur and her children: Cheri husband, Rodney Wall and Charlie Trolia; grandchildren: Tracey Karr, Wendy husband, Chris Siefert, Shawn wife, Stacie Mihal, Racheal husband, Jason Smith, Mandy husband, Brandon Niles and Jessica husband, Corey Sattley; great grandchildren: Kyle, Victoria, Westin, Kennedi, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Makynah, Nathan, Cole and Addison; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Carl Richard “Dick” Miles and his wife Liz and eleven other siblings.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 am Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Graveside service: 12 pm Friday, March 27, 2009 at Calvary Cemetery, Decatur with Military Rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
