Carla Lee Reynolds' Obituary
Carla Lee Reynolds, 81, of Mt. Zion, Illinois, passed away May 8, 2024, at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Carla was born in Decatur on January 26, 1943, the daughter of Winfield and Eunice (Roberts) Pennypacker. She married Alfred Reynolds on February 16, 1974, in Decatur.
Carla was deeply involved in supporting our nation’s veterans. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary Unit 17 Department of Illinois and was a member of the National Executive Committee of the DAV Auxiliary. She was the restaurant manager at the DAV for 31 years. She served as President of the American Legion Post 105 Auxiliary. She was a member of Women of the Moose and of Les Femmes of Voiture 40/8. When she had spare time from all her activities serving veterans, she was a devoted follower of the sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carla is survived by her husband Alfred; children Michael Miller, Randyl (Teresa) Miller, Cricket (Laura) Miller, Debra (Tammy) Sanders, Rodney Reynolds, Stephen Reynolds, Angela (Chris) Ferguson, and Allison (Rick) Beyers; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tracy Lynn, sister Donna Mendenall, and granddaughter Rachel Miller.
Funeral services will be held at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm Tuesday, May 14. Funeral service will be at 11am Wednesday, May 15.
