Carnell Brown's Obituary
Carnell "Carl" Brown of Decatur was absent from the body and present with the Lord on Saturday, October 20, 2007 in his home surrounded by his family.
A service of remembrance will be 12 pm Thursday, October 25, 2007 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be two hours before the service with burial to follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Ashleigh C. Murray-Brown Trust Fund c/o Macon County School Employees Federal Credit Union, Decatur IL. or the American Cancer Society.
Carl was born on May 19, 1955 to M.C. Brown of Belzoni, MS. Prior to moving to Decatur; Carl spent his early life in Peoria, IL. with his sister/family Minnie and on to Gary, IN. with his other sister/family Odessa. He worked for Perkins/Marie Callender Restaurant giving 21 years of faithful, tireless service until his health failed. "Carl" as he was known to his family, friends, co-workers, customers and health-care providers was a soft spoken man who had a big smile, kind spirit and a giving heart. He was loved by all who knew him, and touched many lives. He was a family man and would do anything for his two children.
He married Corletta E. Murray in 1986 and to this union Private Aaron Carnell Murray-Brown U.S. Army and Miss Ashleigh Chauntrice Murray-Brown was born. He leaves to cherish fond memories his 2 sisters: Mrs. Minnie Mack Ingram of Peoria and Mrs. Odessa Barney Fordham of Gary, IN; brother, Mr. L.B. Pearl Banks of Grand Rapids, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, friends, customers, and loved ones; special nephews: Mr. Mack "Pee Wee" Ingram and Rodell Ingram of Peoria; best friend, Mr. Kenny Lee.
The family would like to thank Mr. Kenney Lee, Minister Cornell Cook of God's Supply House/Family, Perkins/Marie Callender Restaurant Staff/Family, Cancer Care Specialists/Staff, Mt. Zion Family Practice/Staff, Dr. Daniel Smith, Dr. Maibenco/Staff, Dr. Velasco, Dr. Gordon/Interventional Radiology/Nurses/Staff, 3rd floor, 5th floor and ICU at St. Mary's Hospital, 5th floor Nurses/Staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Kingdom Come Ministries Apostle William and Lady Donna Rogers, Bishop Thomas L. Cooper and Overseer E.F. Gray for much prayer and support. We love you all.
Carl was preceded in passing by his mother, 3 brothers: Johnny Gibson, Clarence Gibson and J.B. Kemp; aunt, Miss Carrie Walls and nephew, Cantrell Ingram.
Dear Daddy, There is none like you. We loved you most, but God loved you best, he saw fit for you to take your rest. Missing you always! Aaron, Ashleigh, and Coco.
Following the burial a time of fellowship will be held at the Macon County Farm Bureau Building, 1150 W. Pershing Road, Decatur.
