Carol L. Kreke, 71, of Decatur, Illinois
Carol Lynn Kreke passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, surrounded by her family. Carol was born April 1, 1954, in Decatur, to Lon and Marie Ernest. She married Mark Kreke on July 12, 1991, who cared for her with unwavering devotion.
Carol was happiest as a mother and “Grandma.” She enjoyed traveling, flowers, her computer, and capturing memories through photos.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; children Tom (Jennie) Chalmers, Ryan (Stephanie) Kreke, and Lisa (Mike) Pratt; and grandchildren Terra, Reid, Coltin, Justin, Jack, Josie, and Calvin, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Nancy Walsh and Georgia Jacobs.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 28th from 2PM - 5PM at the Decatur DAV. Burial services will be private at Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the COPD Foundation.
Carol will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for family.
