Carol A. Owens-Gordon's Obituary
Carol A. Owens-Gordon, 75, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Zion.
Carol was born on May 31, 1938 in Pinckneyville, IL the daughter of Olin and Lodell 'Sally' (Qualls) Luke. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, B.P.O. Elks Lodge 401, and W.O.T.M. 684. She was a retired branch secretary of GMAC where she was employed for 33 years. She graduated from Pinckneyville Community High School and attended Richland Community College. She married Willard L. Owens on April 17, 1954 in Mississippi. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1997. She later married Edward F. Gordon on July 11, 1998 in Decatur, IL. He also preceded her in death in August of 2010.
Surviving are her sons, Roger Owens and wife Heike of Decatur; Dennis Owens of Decatur; granddaughter, Rachel Owens of Decatur; grandson, Jeffery and wife Stephanie and their children Jacob and Aiden; brother, Allen Dale Luke and wife Charlotte of Raleigh, NC; step-daughter, Diana Clow and husband Ronnie of Champaign and their daughter Angela Oakley and husband Mike of Fisher, IL; step-sons, Hank Gordon and wife Angela of Alpha, IL; and Steve Smiley and wife Kathleen and their daughter Kaitlyn of Las Altos, CA; nieces and nephews, Lisa (Luke)Workman and Brian Luke of South Carolina; Richard Luke of Texas; Connie (Luke) Cline of South Carolina; Jeanette (Luke) Smythe of Pinckneyville, IL; James Luke of Texas; William 'Bill' Luke of Pinckneyville, IL; Amy (Luke) Barry of Michigan; and Mary (Luke) Monahan of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, brother, Richard Luke; sister-in-law, Gerre Luke; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Owens, and nephew, Kevin Luke.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Weltin as Celebrant. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Illinois Elks Children's Care.
